Teachey is a town in Duplin County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 376 at the 2010 census.Teachey is located in southwestern Duplin County at 35°46′9″N 78°0′25″W / 35.76917°N 78.00694°W / 35.76917; -78.00694. U.S. Route 117 passes through the center of town, leading south 2.5 miles to the center of Wallace and north 4 miles to Rose Hill. Interstate 40 passes east of town, with access from Exit 384.According to the United States Census Bureau, Teachey has a total area of 0.93 square miles, all of it land.As of the census of 2000, there were 245 people, 92 households, and 66 families residing in the town. The population density was 299.1 people per square mile. There were 97 housing units at an average density of 118.4 per square mile. The racial makeup of the town was 41.63% White, 50.61% African American, 0.82% Asian, 5.71% from other races, and 1.22% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.94% of the population.
